Sciatica

The sciatic nerve extends from the lower back to the backs of each leg. Sciatica often develops when the discs between the spinal bones of the lower back bulge, crowding the nerves causing irritation and inflammation.

Sciatica can result from a traumatic event, such as a car accident or a slip and fall, however many cases we see are the result of cumulative wear and tear over the years.  Bad posture, excess weight, arthritic changes are all possibilities that may contribute to sciatica.

Chiropractic adjustments can help by restoring proper motion in the spine and pelvis, allowing the body to decrease inflammation, thus reducing irritation to the sciatic nerve.
